What People Say About Us

ONWUEMENE, GABRIEL OLISEMEKE

My name is ONWUEMENE, GABRIEL OLISEMEKE, male, 47 years old. I hail from Agba Quarters in Aniocha-North LGA of Delta State. A widower and physically impaired, I lost my wife at childbirth to Preeclampsia and the use of my eyes to Retinitis Pigmentosa and eventually Glaucoma. With the loss of my wife and daughter in 2013, I went into a five-year depression which meant that I could not work and coupled with the fact that I was blind, seeking alternative employment became extremely difficult. Within this period, I developed high blood pressure and also discovered that my short-term memory was not too good.

In April, 2018, I was introduced to this great organisation and started my recovery process which included amongst others, counseling. After this, I embarked on the human capacity building courses. Today, the completion of this course has enabled me to be relevant in the job market.

It is my belief that with the sustained emotional support I got from ASTHEF NIGERIA, “I am Whole Again” is a reality in my life.
Between 2013 and 2018, I never thought I could become
anything meaningful in life. I’m still working at it, I will get there sometime, someday soon.
